This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I teach 16 energetic kindergarten students. They are curious, creative, and full of energy. They enjoy listening to stories and sharing about their families.
Kids learn best through hands-on experiences.
I want to introduce story workshop into our day so my students can paint stories before they write. The liquid watercolors and tempera cakes I request in this project will allow my students to begin the writing process through art. This creative rehearsal will enable them to create characters, establish the problem and solution, and add dialogue between their characters. Doing this in art will ensure they feel more confident putting it down in writing.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
