Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach a class of 19 bright, fun-loving second graders. Nine of whom are new to this country. They are smart, inquisitive, and love to learn. We are part of a small school, my class is one of only two second grades in the building, with a great sense of community.
Even though the language barrier makes it difficult, they love to help in the room and each other.
My students also love art and are great artists! They love to write and talk about their lives. We are always learning about each other and our cultures. Our school has monthly assembly programs, and we are currently working on our show for the month of March.
My Project
Each student having a caddy will put their supplies in their hands faster. It will also keep the classroom neat and clean, making it a more inviting place. The bins will help dress up the library make it more accessible for the students as well. It will also help with labeling for my students who don't speak English. The class set of crayons will help me make sure every child has equal access to art supplies. All of these items will help improve the classroom community because no one will feel left out.
