My Project

My students are still living with the impact of a global pandemic and recovering from over a year of shutdowns.

I hope to make my classroom a safe and inviting space for them to work and express themselves.

As a school and community, we have also struggled with low funding, especially for basic classroom necessities.

To help students stay focused, I keep a collection of healthy snacks handy like applesauce and yogurt to supplement their needs throughout the day. Our last mini-fridge was a bestowed upon us by a veteran teacher but unfortunately, it gave out over the summer. We are in need of a new one to help keep student's snacks and lunches.

Digital wall clocks are a new need to help us with time management and be self-reliance. The analog clock in our classroom isn't reliable, it stops randomly throughout the day.

Since covid, I've noticed attention spans are shorter and can cause students to need breaks. The timers and clocks will help me encourage the pomodoro technique and limit burnout.

I am very excited about the Gimbal Stabilizer! Students in my Digital Media class have been asking for something like this to help assist them shooting their videos. This will make scenes smoother and allow for quicker editing in the classroom. This is a bonus piece of equipment that I want to provide for my students.

Tissues, magnets, storage bins, command strips are basic consumable items that we use on a daily basis in my class and always run short. Before, families were eager and able to help out but now these items can be a heavy lift. Help me stock up on essentials so our time and energy can be focused on discovery learning!
