My Students
When I step in front of my classroom at the beginning of the day and look at my students, I know that a great day awaits me. My students greet me with smiles, questions and eager faces; they are ready to learn, and I am ready to teach them all that I can.
My students are incredible, curious, adept, and capable learners.
My students speak different languages (over 19 languages at our school) and all have tremendous talent to share with each other. My students jump into their daily learning with zeal. They work together, laugh together, learn together, and share everything in their classroom community.
My Project
My students love art time. One time per week, students have a chance to learn about art, but what about the other school days? I want to create an artist's corner in my very own classroom where students can daily use their imaginations. They can sketch and color with Mr. Sketch scented markers, use both the hand and figure models to create gesture drawings, and use their own personal sketchbooks to keep an individual portfolio of their work.
Imagine how terrific it will be for my students to have access to an artist's corner in their classroom!
Think of the wonderful sketches, pictures and drawings they could come up with! Students will take an "Art Break" for 5 minutes each day. They could daily use their creativity and display their work in our classroom. Students will make art a part of their school day.
