Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach a life skills class with seven boys and one girl. My students are unique learners. I have two students who have Down syndrome, six students with autism. They are all unique in their own ways. Four of my students are verbal and the other four are nonverbal. I have one students who are in kindergarten, two in 1st grade, two in second grade and two in third grade. It is hard for them to express their wants and needs, as students with disabilities struggle with academics and motor skills.
My students need help because they are unable to communicate their wants and needs.
Our school is a Title I school where 100% of the students receive free breakfast and lunch. Fifty percent of my students come from single-parent homes.
My Project
The materials I have ordered will help my students show their artistic talent while working virtually from home. My students are students who who have different disabilities. Some of them have Autism and others have Down Syndrome. Some are verbal and some are non verbal. I am hoping that they will be able to better express themselves through art. By showing their artistic talents they will be able to better express themselves. They will use the materials at home and then they will present their projects expressing what they drew as best as they are able to..
