it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Working with speech students in a calm and inviting environment can make a significant difference in their progress and comfort level. Using articulation drill cards during our sessions, is incredibly effective for practicing targeted speech sounds in a focused yet engaging way. The cards allow for structured practice and flexibility, making it easier to adapt activities based on each student's individual needs.
Our setting is designed to promote a peaceful, nurturing atmosphere—complete with soft carpeting and a forest-themed decor that includes natural colors, gentle lighting, and elements of nature.
This calm, sensory-friendly space helps students feel at ease, reducing anxiety and allowing them to fully participate in speech activities. The articulation cards, carpet and canopy would be a valuable addition to this space, blending easily into the natural, play-based learning style we strive to maintain.
With these materials, we could integrate speech goals into imaginative play or quiet, focused tabletop tasks that feel less clinical and more like exploration.
