Artful Learning

Help me give my students more opportunities to create fun, artistic learning projects with art supplies like markers, crayons, tape, and beads!

FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. Zoolakis's classroom raised $712

My Students

I have an energetic class of 30 students! They love engaging learning activities and ask many questions about how the world works around them. They are curious, goofy, and love to learn. Our classroom has a growth mindset approach to learning as we celebrate accomplishments and learn from our mistakes.

Each student is on their level, striving to learn authentically to apply their knowledge in real-world experiences.

My students have the drive to be successful, and I want to help them reach their individual goals.

My Project

After dealing with Covid limitations for several years now, my art supplies stores have been depleted or gone wrong. Students haven't been able to use them since I had to have enough to each student have their own supplies. Sharing was difficult with trying to limit the spread of potential germs.

Art projects increase engagement and enjoyment in the learning process.

This is what I want to give back to my students by supplying them with various materials they can use. These supplies will help my students engage in our day-to-day learning activities and create artistic representations of their learning.

My students will be able to use beads and tape to create wampum belts to share their personal stories as part of our Social Studies curriculum. They will use the pastels and construction crayons to create art pieces that go along with their language arts activities. For example, they will be able to practice visualizing the setting of a novel we’re reading together or they could illustrate different types of figurative language. Students could use these supplies to create colorful posters that depict the different phase changes of matter for a science activity. The whiteboards will be useful to replace old, damaged boards so students can clearly demonstrate their understanding of a math concept that can be shared easily in class. Dry erase markers are always in short supply in my classroom since they are used daily by students with their whiteboards. Permanent markers are also one of my most requested items by my students when creating art projects. The markers help create bold lines and contrast in any of their pieces. It would be helpful to have more markers so each student could have their own.
