My Students
First graders are an amazing group. Many of my students live in poverty and most have very unstable home lives. They are still very thrilled about school and learning. I love all the questions they come up with...their little minds are like sponges. I want to provide them with the best school experience possible.
I hope they to create a situation of awe and wonder and make them want to continue to learn and stay in school until they reach their dreams.
My Project
My students need chenille stems, construction paper, wiggle eyes, and sequins to create magnificent models of our science studies. They will be able to make caterpillars turn into butterflies and paint their metamorphosis. They will use these supplies to creatively show what they learn as we study animals in our classroom.
We will use art to show what we learned about the life cycle of butterflies as well as other animals like frogs and toads.
We will also learn and illustrate parts and functions of plants such as pollination. They will be able to make models of the experiments we are doing in class.
