Artbot: A Creative Project That Teaches Open/Closed Circuit
My students need 36 1.5V motors to create their own artbot (a robot that runs on 2 AAA batteries and a motor) to further their learning of open/closed circuits.
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Garrett's classroom raised $344
This project is fully funded
Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Nothing is better than hands on science. The students are currently learning about open and closed circuits in my 4th grade classroom. As a culminating project on our unit on electricity, the students will build their very own robot to further their learning of electricity and circuits.
The students in my 4th grade class attend a magnet school in California where science, math, and technology is a daily part of learning.
Our class focuses on self inquiry hands on projects all year long. Students are encouraged to think like scientists and investigate problems like scientists. Our school is a school of choice and students at our school choose us because they love science, math and technology!
My Project
With the 1.5V motors and batteries, students are able to build a robot that essentially vibrates across a surface leaving behind its own unique mark. Using a hands on approach such as building this artbot, will reinforce our science unit on electricity and circuits. Building a robot will become a lifelong memory for each student. Not only will the students remember building their very own robot, but also the process and knowledge of electricity and circuits.
With Donors Choose, students will have a better chance of reinforcing their learning of electricity and circuits through a hands on project.
This artbot is not only a fun robot to build, but it is also a robot that teaches students about electricity and circuits.
