My Students

I have a class of 20 pre -k students within a C. Public school.

In 20 years of teaching, this group is the sweetest, kindest and most loving group that I have had the opportunity to teach.

When they manipulate materials, they use fine motor skills, expand their creativity, boost their self confidence and reinforce skills across all academic domains.

The students are eager and excited each day to have opportunity to utilize different art materials and then proudly display their creations in hallway for all to see and enjoy.

My Project

The art supplies asked for will be used on a daily basis to help enhance our curriculum.

The kids will use the markers and colored pencils to practice writing their names, letters and numbers.

The construction paper and tissue paper will be used for creating books and seasonal projects, for example: we will create the seasons of a tree, and make holiday cards to distribute to local nursing home.

The play dough will be used to fine motor skills. They will use scissors to cut the dough, then roll the dough to form numbers, letters and eventually words.

The sentence strips and index cards will be used to make flash cards of letters, numbers, sight words and shapes.

The other art supplies ( googly eyes, pom poms, feathers, etc) will be used creatively by the students when placed within the art center.
