Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are ambitious and eager to learn. As multilingual learners, they are learning content as well as English at the same time so it is important to activate as many of their senses as possible to make learning engaging. They love to learn through science and art, so what better way to embrace that than to do so with art in science?

We are currently learning about fossils and these materials will give my students an opportunity to share their love for science through art activities by using dry erase markers, felt makers and stamps.

The stickers are an added accessory as they bring a new "sense" to their project.

Students will be able to become real paleontologists and dig out a fossil. They will recreate that fossil in 2D form with their choice of supplies, then share their findings with the class. This will encourage a positive learning environment through teamwork, individuality and public speaking.
