Help me give my students cardstock paper, oil pastels, watercolors, and other supplies for the art enrichment that they normally don't receive in 5th grade!
This project will give us new art supplies so that I can implement more art in the general education classroom. All too often, art gets pushed to the side in upper grades, and students lose the opportunity to be creative in the classroom. I believe that they should be allowed to use their imagination all the time while in school. Soon they will go to middle school, and they won't have these opportunities anymore. We will use the oil pastels to create beautiful pieces of art for our annual art walk. We will use cardstock to help create abstract art pieces for our art walk. The paint brushes can help us create new paintings to showcase as well. The earbuds will help us with our musical creations so our class can listen and edit their audio easily. Our ink pads will help us with thumbprint art modeled after Ed Emberly's art style. Each of these will help us grow as artists. The pastels will help us create new pieces of artwork for our Art Walk. I cannot wait to see how students transform blank pieces of watercolor paper into masterpieces. The label maker will make it easy for students to store and sort their art supplies. A tidy artspace makes it easier for them to find their beautiful creations.
Our school is a low-income school with many diverse students.
We have many old, broken, unusable art supplies. Of our supplies, there is usually only one class set worth of supplies. This will give more classes enough supplies to be able to have multiple art projects running simultaneously.
