Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Despite being a Title I school and having a large population of low income, at-risk, and limited English proficient students, our school has managed to maintain itself among the highest performing schools in our large urban school district, and we consistently earn recognition for our accomplishments from the state.
My students are all hardworking, energetic and eager, and they come to class each day ready to learn about how to become better artists.
They come to my class to express themselves through different forms of art.
My Project
Our city was devastated by Hurricane Harvey and our school year was delayed for 2 weeks. I would like to welcome my students back to school with an ample supply of new art materials for them to use this school year.
My students enjoy coming to art class because they get to freely express themselves.
With new art materials, my students will be able to create seasonal collages. They will be able to use the mosaic tiles and tissue paper to show how our environment changes from season to season.
With everything that my students have been through I would like for art class to be a highlight of their school year.
