There is a variety of cultures in our classroom including, Native American and African heritage. We create books about our families, nature, and language. These materials will aid our illustration and writing our stories. The families are financially challenged but love to see their kids succeed
Who are they...my students are five and six year old students willing to please you and willing to learn.
They are eager to help and explore their world. They have diverse backgrounds and come with a variety of baggage. What are they like...my students are wonderful, complex and unique. They are fun, happy and love to celebrate life and little goals. What kind of school do they attend...a low funded title one school.
My Project
The resources I chose will meet our multicultural needs for writing and illustrating our books. These resources will also aid in the management of these art materials. My students will be able to create rich illustrations and therefore vivid stories. I have ordered a Kokki stool for my kinesthetic students, multi-cultural washable markers, multi-cultural people shapes, writing caddies, paper mache frames, baskets, 8 cubbie storage unit, tissue paper, glitter glue, and Gesso for preservation.
I believe your donation for our project will enhance student learning by meeting and pushing for higher level learning through writing and illustrating stories and book making.
These will be stories and books to take back to their families to share.
