Help me give my students the art supplies they need so that we can continue to incorporate art into our celebration of hard work in all content areas!
FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. Grey's classroom raised $322

My Students
I have an amazingly incredible class of kind, curious, innovative fifth graders. They are funny and smart and they keep me on my toes!
My students come from a highly impacted neighborhood and are part of our Title school community where resources and funding are limited, making simple things like an art project, very difficult.
We frequently don’t have the paper or supplies needed to add art to our work. Art has been shown over and over to be therapeutic. Connecting art to our learning is a way to keep all students excited and engaged in the hard work, with the reward of the fun work: art. In order to do this, I need some basic art supplies! My students and I are so appreciative.
My Project
Students in our classroom will use these art supplies from your donation, on a regular basis. Art has been proven to be therapeutic and it also keeps students motivated and engaged. With these supplies, we will enhance our classroom work with a version of it, expressed through art. Typically, students create a representation of their finished work in writing, reading, etc. using various forms of art media. Allowing our work to culminate in an art project keeps my students engaged and motivated to complete their work. Many also come from trauma, so this also allows them a therapeutic time to express themselves, while also reinforcing their hard work.
These art supplies will support my students in fueling their creativity and self expression, as well as increasing their focus and fine motor skills.
For this project, I have chosen various colors/types of paint, brushes, and paper, as well as materials such as "bleeding" tissue paper. These items will be used to support the culminating art projects that students create. Not only will it help our classroom, but it will also help our other fifth grade classrooms as well. Our school has art supplies for our art literacy program, only. This donation will allow us to have the art essentials at our fingertips whenever we may need them!
