My Students
My students are an eclectic mix of cultures, personalities and inspiration! I teach students from all four of our school's small learning communities, so I see all of the students -- from tech to humanities. Our school is a Title I school, which means we have enough low income students to qualify for federal aid. My students are wonderful and creative and energetic! They are just waiting to learn, create, and collaborate. They come from all grades, all types of neighborhoods, and all types of families.
My Project
"Most arts disciplines are collaborative in nature. Through the arts, children practice working together, sharing responsibility, and compromising with others to accomplish a common goal." I hope you agree that this is a very true insight from The Washington Post. These basic art supplies will greatly assist our classes in their creations and in their collaboration. As you probably know, arts funding is always the first to go in education. Having these basic supplies will ensure the continuation of our middle school art program, helping kids find both fun and discipline in their school day. We will learn techniques of painting and then apply our knowledge with these supplies! I am requesting chipboard for painting, acrylic paints, and paint brushes. We also need ink cartridges for our printer.
