This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
These art supplies will help my students build concrete models that explore and explain their understanding of our social studies concepts about human settlements. This project will help develop students' skills including design, creativity, analytical skills, spatial reasoning, and critical thinking.
Art supplies help students transform their ideas into reality.
Students will use teamwork, collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills while working together to recreate habitats and environments using items such as paper mache, glue, and popsicle sticks. Building these models will enable them to explain how human settlements and movements relate to a location's physical geography and natural resources. Hands-on projects engage them better than traditional pen-and-paper responses and help bring their ideas to life!
