it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Please help our school give our students the opportunity to express themselves artistically and possibly spark up some new passions/interests during after school clubs. Our students need modeling clay to build the sculptures they are interested in making as well as acrylic paints and brushes to finish off their projects. They have specifically asked for more colored air dry clay, they loved that for adding extra details to their projects.
We have many students and families trying to find their place within a new community after our district closed down multiple schools and after school clubs is one of the many ways we help students and families feel welcomed.
One of our clubs is a sculpting club and our goal is to help students discover new interest and/or hobbies while creating a safe environment for self discovery and social interactions.
We originally did have materials for this club but sadly they were taken from our classroom and were not returned, and as we are running out of funding we cannot replace these items and still have funds left over for the rest of the school year and summer clubs. Being a title 1 school means most of our kiddos come from low income families so, our students do not get the opportunities that many others do. We would all as a school greatly appreciate your help in helping us provide these opportunities and experiences and get material to keep our sculpting club exciting and keep students interested and coming.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
