This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am a fourth grade teacher in an inner city school in the South Bronx in New York City. There is not much money for art supplies in my school so it is basically up to the teacher to get them if they want to enhance the curriculum with art projects that will go along with the units of study. I am requesting a variety of art paper and supplies to help motivate my students to be creative and create hands on models and pictures of what they learn. For example, after they learn about plant and animal cells they will be able to take different colored paper and create their own plant and animal cells based on what they just learned. Without these supplies these projects will not be able to happen. I know that by making learning fun my students will be more motivated to study and attend school and these art projects will definitely help.
