My students need a class set of markers and colored pencils, construction paper, paint and other art supplies so that they are able to do projects for science.
FULLY FUNDED! Mr. Franklin's classroom raised $476

My Students
Science should never just be reading out of a book. In my classroom, we do some labs, but sometimes cost prohibits us from doing both labs and projects. It is a delicate balance between hands-on labs and hands-on projects. Getting this project funded will allow me to do both without hesitation.
My students love science.
Although some tell me they do not want to be scientists, they are still very interested in what we are doing in class. They are particularly interested in hands-on activities. However, some of my students have trouble finding their own materials for any projects as the vast majority of our school qualifies for free lunch.
My Project
The art supplies I am requesting include construction paper, paint, markers, colored pencils, and pipe cleaners. These supplies will allow my students to work on projects over the course of the rest of this year and well into next year as well. The supplies will be used for multiple projects with both 7th and 8th grade and will help to compliment the hands-on labs that we do. One example of this is to model cellular reproduction (mitosis) using paper plates, pipe cleaners and string.
This project is important because my students are truly interested in science and often we have to choose between a lab or a project for a unit.
I would love to be able to have the materials to do both and that is what this project will allow us to do.
