My students need 256 colored markers and 10 packs of modeling clay.
FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. O.'s classroom raised $160

My Students
I have no funds for any art supplies for our Library students, K thru 6th grade. I try to build in lots of fun, little art projects that tie in with reading, since our students love it and it stimulates their creativity! But our tiny PTA has no funds to support this and I have no other resources.
We serve a student base that is 80% poverty, with those numbers increasing, due to the tough economic times.
Many of our students only eat regular meals when they are at school, due to unstable family life and some live in shelters. I try to offer them extra art activities, but it all costs money.
My Project
My students LOVE doing art projects, ranging from simple coloring to doing large class posters and projects. With markers and modelling clay, we can do lots of fun things in the Library and showcase our students creativity! No matter how "bad" some students think their art are, they have a blast! I promote individual expression, in a non-judgmental environment.
It is really sad to see my markers running out this year, and our "supply closet" basically empty of these kinds of supplies.
Please help keep our students happy and creating during their busy school days! With a big emphasis on testing, sometimes art falls by the wayside. Simple markers can make a huge difference! Please help. While I have no funds for new Library books next year, hopefully art supplies are in our future!
