Art Supplies for My Second Grade Class

My students need construction paper and crayons to use throughout the school year.

My Students

Do you remember how much you loved doing art projects when you were little? My school doesn't have an art teacher, so my students have had limited experiences with art. I want to give my students opportunities to express themselves and develop their creativity through art, but I need some supplies.

I have 25 energetic second grade students in my classroom.

They are eager to learn and love coming to school each day. Our school has over 1,100 students from pre-k to eighth grade. It is a Title 1 school, which means than many of my students' families are living below the poverty line. Approximately 85% of the students receive free lunch.

My Project

Construction paper and crayons are used in my classroom on an almost daily basis for art projects. Unfortunately many of our crayons have broken or have been lost. We are also running very low on our paper supplies and will most likely run out within the first few months of school. I am requesting several packs of construction paper in various sizes and colors. The requested amount should carry us through to the end of the year. I am also requesting a class pack of large crayons and a of regular crayons. These supplies will allow me to regularly incorporate artwork into lessons and encourage my students' creativity.

Your donation will provide my students with access to the most basic of art materials.

The crayons and construction paper will promote creativity and allow me to regularly incorporate art projects into the curriculum.
