My students are amazing children who love to think outside of the box and work with their hands. They are critical thinkers and incredibly creative.
I would love to offer my students the chance to try out new art-making techniques that most have never experienced before.
During the Covid-19 pandemic, most of my students did not have access to art-making materials at home, so they came back to school hungry to be creative and to learn new things.
I would love to introduce printmaking to my students because it is such a varied field of art and can be applied in so many ways that the students are interested in. It is fun and exciting, but also practical with real-world applications that excite students. I also feel like the process of making, signing, and sharing prints would be very valuable for my students and would help them continue developing some of the social skills they lost during the pandemic.
I have included clay because my students love using clay and find so much joy in working with their hands! They build skills in teamwork, hand-eye coordination, and more when using clay. I also included paint markers, as my students have never used them, and I feel like they are something that the students will absolutely love and get so much use out of!
With your support and these materials, I will be able to introduce my students to so many new ways to think about art, and will help them develop as artists, thinkers, and people.
