This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I am a first-grade teacher at a Title I school with 40% or more of students below the poverty line. Art is typically my students' greatest motivator when learning about other subjects. I hope to use the pastels, clay and paint palettes as tools to integrate art into other subjects such as science and social studies. These art supplies will be used to help students learn about diverse artists and cultures. My hope is that with the use of these supplies in our art lessons, students of diverse backgrounds will be able to see themselves as artists.
