This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

When we give out the supply list at the beginning of the school year, we have to pick and choose what materials are extremely important for them. All of the supplies are important, but we prioritize them. Sadly the art supplies get the back seat.

My students are 6th graders that live in a low-income neighborhood.

Around 95% of our students in the school receive free lunch. In our school, 6th grade is departmentalized, so I see all of the 6th graders everyday. My 120 6th graders are all energetic, full of character and ready to learn.

My Project

When students do group work I would like for them to use markers, crayons, colored pencils and bring their work to life! The lack of supplies makes their work look too monotone. I am requesting bold markers, colored pencils, a pencil sharpener, and glue sticks. With these added supplies we don't need to put them on the supply list and they can focus on getting other materials that are priority, like a calculator.

My project needs of your support.

Help me to provide my students will colorful supplies, so that they do not have to be concerned with trying to afford them. Every child has the right to an education and they should not have to worry about if they have the money to pay for their supplies. Kind people like you help them, so that they can focus on getting good grades. I am thanking you in advance for your support.
