Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach Kindergarten in a high-poverty area. Many of my students come from low-income households and/or are learning English. I also have several students with special needs in my classroom. ALL students benefit from hands-on learning activities that address a variety of learning modalities.
My students LOVE Art and expressing their personalities as well as their learning through projects they create! Unfortunately, our classroom is not equipped with the supplies we need to fully incorporate Art in to daily learning activities.
We need tempera paint, letter sponges, alphabet and picture stencils to artfully practice letters and sounds and their associations with pictures. We need crayons and markers and a spin-and-draw for creating pictures to express myriad thoughts and ideas. Kindergarteners are wonderful at expressing their thoughts and ideas when given a free, creative outlet!
Your help will give my students an opportunity to use their creativity to demonstrate what they understand and will make their learning experiences more fun, and therefore, more meaningful. Help my students become Art Smart by donating today!
