Art Show Refill and New Art Supplies

Help me give my students the necessary materials to host our school art show, more printmaking paper, and post-its for art history notes.

My Project

These materials will be used for my art show next school year. The velcro is used to hang artwork. Our gym has long strips of velcro on three of its walls and this made hanging artwork this year much easier. Our one display wall (previously funded on DonorsChoose) also accepted velcro. While it seemed a little unstable, no artwork fell off and the work was up several days before our show's opening. The ream of paper will be used for the event flyer. The card stock will be use for informational signs. The index cards are used to make artwork labels, which are attached to artworks with masking tape. The vertical sign holders will be utilized on our cafeteria tables during our ice cream social, which happens concurrently with my art show and is sponsored by a local, small business, Basin Surveying.

I am hoping to implement a more robust art history curriculum with my upper elementary students.

This will be accomplished through simple note taking on post-its. Because I only see my students once a week, it is challenging to teach them about multiple artists. As their major projects are rooted in individual artists or individual art forms, I will be implementing a bell ringer where my students will engage in more writing about art and learn the names of more artists and their practices.

I am also requesting three different types of paper that my students use for printmaking. My first graders will be using the rice paper to make gyotaku prints, while the white and black card stock will be used by my fourth grade students.
