Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students deserve fun, enriching, and engaging activities. As their art teacher, it has been my honor to be able to connect their learning to their creativity. We are constantly connecting our projects to math, science, and geography. We don't just create a collage of the Arctic north; we discuss the affects of the Arctic ice melting. We don't just paint polka dots; we analyze Aboriginal Australian art and explore the culture of another place.
My students deeply enjoy being able to let their creativity shine.
And as their teacher, it is my job to provide them all of the tools and space they need to grow into innovative problem-solvers. Unfortunately, my limited budget often causes me to become an innovative problem-solver while trying to stretch my resources across more than 300 students in six different grades.
We are in current need of basic supplies like glue and new paint brushes (especially since painting is one of my students' favorite activities). The cart will become a technology station and will house the headphones as well as iPads I recently acquired as I strive to create a 21st-century learning environment. Integrating technology into learning has only increased in necessity, and my goal is to make it a key part of my classroom protocol.
The supplies in this project are aimed at ensuring my students have access to fun and engaging lessons every day, from the first to the last, and your support is greatly appreciated.
