My Students
My students love to read! I believe that students need access to books in every classroom in the school. Right now in our art room, we have a growing collection of books, and we desperately need a place to store all of them.
Our school is a Title I Striving School in Tennessee.
We serve approximately 350 students from Pre-K to fifth grade. Reading is an area with which many of our students struggle. Our students need as much exposure to books as possible. This means having an exciting and accessible library in every room.
My Project
The mobile book organizer and multicultural book collection will help my students because it will give them the opportunity to read during any extra time they may have in the art room. It is essential for all students to build upon their reading skills. Students in my classroom work at various paces, and I want to encourage students to read in any available downtime.
Creating a library in the art room also exposes students not only to new and exciting books, but also to various drawing styles. There is nothing more exciting than seeing a student inspired to read and draw because they have access to books.
This project is important because my students need easy access to all of the books in our art room.
The library in the art room will be used by all 350 students in the school. It is essential to encourage reading in every single room. Help us encourage student reading!
