My students are so amazing. They work so hard in their classrooms and in OT. My students are challenged with art creations by Vincent Van Gogh, Kandinsky, Chihuly and more. ART & OT provides a small group of instruction with challenging crafts that provide math and writing, learning and practice. For example: Angle art helps measure angles such as right, acute and obtuse angles.
By combining art and occupational therapy, my students can create and visualize concepts.
My students get to practice classroom curriculum while doing activities that are purposeful and meaningful to them. My students are engaged and motivated to create, explore and have fun while learn.
My Project
My students learn best by doing. In Occupational Therapy, a student learns by doing an activity through modification, step-by-step instruction, repitition and practice. Arts and crafts projects provide a positive, purposeful and meaningful activity that promotes attending, focusing, fine motor skills, bilateral coordination and visual perceptual skills. I am asking for art supplies including two Soap Making Kits, ten pounds of Activa Celluclay Instant Papier Mache, a Woodland Mosaic Coaster Kit, a pack of Acrylics, and two Procion Tie-Dye Kits.
My students are eager to come to our combined Art and Occupational Therapy classes.
Together with the art teacher, I provide a small group setting that provides varying levels of support with the goal of creating greater independence, pride and learning. Our goal is creating successful moments for our students. Children grow by simple steps of success.
