My Students
We are a small, K-8 Title I public school in a culturally diverse neighborhood in New York City. The majority of our students come from low-income households. They are enthusiastic, expressive, curious learners who love painting, drawing, sculpting with clay, and really anything they can be creative with! With budget cuts having affected New York public schools in recent years, it has become difficult for us to sometimes purchase even some of the most basic of supplies for our art classroom.
My Project
I will be teaching Art from a cart this school year. While trying to figure out how I will organize art materials for my classes, I realize that there are several key items that could truly help me and my students to have streamlined art sessions throughout the year.
In an effort to provide an amazing Art experience, I have chosen some organizational tools that will help me to carry all of the art supplies I can to my students' classrooms to inspire creativity!
The bins will be used to sort all of our supplies, such as beads, paper scraps, markers, and scissors. I will use the wipe off supplies to demonstrate examples for drawing projects for students. While, the magnets will be use to display various art examples to inspire students.
I am sure that these items will be an asset to having a productive and enjoyable year in Art. Thank you so much for your help!
