My Project

As a middle school social studies teacher, I believe in the power of art to deepen student engagement and understanding.

Integrating art into my lessons allows students to creatively demonstrate their historical learning, whether through visuals that accompany writing, presentations, or stand-alone projects.

These materials will enable students to express their knowledge in ways that are both meaningful and memorable.

This approach especially supports my artistically inclined students, giving them a platform to shine in a core content area. At the same time, it helps all students build visual literacy and creative confidence—skills that are increasingly valuable across disciplines.

Perhaps most importantly, art-infused projects often reach students who struggle in traditional academic settings. For many of them, art provides a more accessible and inspiring entry point into complex historical content. These materials will help me engage those learners who might otherwise feel left out, creating a more inclusive and responsive classroom for all.
