This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I co-teach an inclusive preschool classroom and all of my students regardless of their abilities are brilliant, hard-working, unique and capable of learning. The children in my classroom range in their eligibilities from typically developing, Speech delays, Autism, Intellectually disabled, traumatic brain injury and other health impairments. Distance learning has increased the barriers that children with disabilities face, making it more difficult for equitable learning.
My Project
The materials being requested in this project will help provide each child in my classroom with a basic supply kit, so that they can engage in art activities via distant learning.
Young children learn through visual arts and benefit from creative expression.
Incorporating art activities in distant learning lessons will allow for young children to engage, gain interest and remain focused.
Students will make use of the art materials in various forms. For example, children can use the materials requested to practice writing or painting their name, express their emotions, learn how to create secondary colors from primary colors (STEM), and to collage and describe their art creations.
