This project is fully funded
I teach an at-risk pre-kindergarten inclusion class of 15 students. Twelve of my students are considered regular education and three have identified special needs.
My students show an interest in the area of art as related to the creation of artwork. The students enjoy expressing themselves through art and it is a great opportunity to incorporate academic goals relating to literacy, math, social studies, and science. Art supplies provided to my class are basic, consisting of glue, crayons, construction paper, paint, markers, and scissors. I would like my students to increase their creativity through the exploration of new art materials.
I need art materials to ignite interest through the senses. For example, textured materials for collage work, as well as tools for clay work to create textures in clay. In addition, I would like materials to excite the children visually. Again this will include items for texture and with bold colors to visually grab the students' interests. The materials will assist me in incorporating art into the academic curriculum for acquiring literacy, math, social studies, and science knowledge.
Your assistance will ignite my students' interest in the arts using a variety of senses. It will also assist them in achieving academic goals through the exploration of art!
