This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
As a teacher in a low-income/high poverty school district, my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the many challenges they face, I am looking to keep things simple and provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences.One of my objectives for this coming academic year is to teach my student thru art.
My Project
All of my students wants to do art painting and all I get is five bottles of tempera paint a year. The art will give my students to enhance their language through art where otherwise they would not have a chance at home. Art can be an important component to any core subject . Students increase expressive and receptive language when I incorporate art. Drawing, coloring and painting enhances their multimodal approach to learning new skills. Many students have not used a paint brush nor a canvas , this experience will help them see art from a different perspective.
