This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Students at our school are curious, creative, little humans. They need an outlet for their creativity and where they can engage in activities which are not as structured as they are inside the classroom. The library is a great place for students to not only find wonderful books to read,, but also engage in activities which let them relax.
Providing art supplies for students in the library allows them to express themselves and be creative outside of the classroom.
My goal is for students to be able to engage in multiple art activities throughout the rest of the year, so that they can enjoy coming to the library not only during their assigned library times, but also during lunchtime recess.
I provide games, coloring activities, and free reading time, but would like to expand that in order for students to be able to engage in other art activities. The Etch-a-Sketch is a great tool to engage students in art that is outside of their normal activities. The markers will allow them to draw, color, and create.
