My Students
What makes my students special? They are a motivated group of outstanding third graders who want to learn as much as they can about the world around them. They are curious and have a huge passion for both learning and teaching others.
Art unlocks the door to learning.
It encourages joyful, active learning. Having more art in the classroom helps meet the needs of all learners and allows them to explore many different ways of showing their learning. It allows them to take control and be creative.
My Project
Art integration is nothing new; however, it is often lost within the classroom. Our classroom goal is to bring it back to life. We are looking to add good quality art supplies to our room in order to utilize art projects to showcase our learning. We are requesting tempera paint, watercolor paints, brushes and painting containers.
Art allows a student to express themselves in their own way.
Art will allow my students to go beyond traditional paper and pencil. It will encourage my students to bring their creativity to life and bring a new sense of motivation into the classroom. It will allow my students more choice in their learning. Our plan is to use the art supplies as a way to showcase our learning in creatives ways. We will be recreating book covers, drawing and painting characters, painting a scene from a story or using it to paint out our math problems. Using the supplies in these ways, allows for my students to use their own creativity to show their learning.
