My students need art supplies to be able to express themselves. I choose play dough to build fine motor skills and crayons so they can put details in their work.

My Students
My classroom consists of 25 students who live in shelters or projects. They want to express their creative sides but need materials.
My students are bright and creative.
I often hear "I can't color at home because we have no crayons at home" when completing a homework assignment. We do several hands-on projects to make connections in learning, and crayons or play dough are key ingredients towards learning. The school is located in a low income project area.
My Project
When we have the materials needed, my students will be able to have several opportunities to express their artistic side. This will promote fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination. Students will create various art pieces and develop their ownership of their work.
When materials are available the classroom children can grow and develop skills.
Children will feel a sense of pride in their work. Creating and expressing your artistic side is a great outlet for young children.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
