I am the K-12 art teacher at a rural school in Missouri. My students are enthusiastic and excited about art projects every time I see them and we have SO much fun. For some of these kiddos my class is the only time they get to paint, color with markers, do pottery and learn about famous artists. Creativity is so important in learning problem-solving skills. I am in need of art supplies for all of the students to be able to paint and have colored pencils.
My Project
With these items off of my list, students will have access to paint for a collaborative mural that I am hoping to get started with the elementary classes this year. It will be so much fun to have all of the classes work together to make our school bright and cheerful. With other supplies like the scratch art paper, this is something that I don’t think some of the students have used before. The carpet is in hopes for a reading center area that I am building up for when the “early finishers” complete their art project before other students. STEAM art centers once a month with LEGOs, puzzles, books about famous artists can only enrich our youth.
