My Project

By donating to this project, you WILL IMPACT teens, positively! My students face countless challenges every day and lessons around art that I provide, give my students more than the joy-filled experience itself. The students who benefit from you receive something truly tangible and take home their "own" creation and the pride of ownership--as well as skills that guide them into a more positive future mindset. The clay, tote bags, and paint markers are for art, but also for real, young people who are seeking to better themselves and their situation.

In my art program, students are encouraged to create freely but with deeper reflection on their lives and the joy of art.

Their confidence, expressions of identity (key in teens' advancement to healthy next-steps in life) are a significant part of building themselves a beautiful-brighter future. These "artists" are from a community of young people who really need to see their potentials and ways to "craft a brighter future" than the world they were born into. In my art class, students are given art knowledge and yet, so much more! They learn what it means to be good citizens and how to work out the issues of their lives in a positive artistic way through a collection of art-based learning, hands-on projects. The class is designed to positively enhance their whole lives and to understand how choices affect themselves and those around them. Every day I am grateful to offer students a stress-free and drama-free time to simply create and not-so-obviously find meaning in their lives and care for others around them, while focusing on giving back where they can. Please, supply their needs. Thank you.
