My Project
My keiki (students) love art! Most of my students come from low-income households and they cannot afford art supplies like paint, crayons, markers, etc. The cost of living is so high in Hawaii many are just getting by with the basics of day to day living. When they come into the classroom, I like to create a place where they feel home, safe, and proud to come to school every day.
Please help me fund these art materials that will enrich their daily lessons and allow them to create memorable pieces that will last for years to come.
We plan to make abstract water colored self-portraits hung on the embroidery looms that will bring a comforting and inviting feel into our classroom. The bags will help package them for Christmas gifts to their families and the Clorox wipes will help clean the mess that comes along with the fun of art.
