My students need art supplies like markers, a drying rack, painting tools, and Wikki Stix to get their creative minds blooming while also learning important fine motor and literacy skills.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
When most people go to work they are greeted by a computer, a register, or a telephone. I get greeted by tiny, smiling faces that are eager to learn. These students are the reason I gladly stay till 5 at night, come in on the weekends, and toss and turning at night thinking about their successes and areas of improvement.
Although many of my students come from socioeconomic disadvantaged families they are still the brightest, most giving, loving children you could ever meet.
Knowing that cheeseburgers are my favorite food I often hear "Miss G., meet me in the cafeteria; cheeseburgers are on the menu today. You can share mine with me!" They have pride in who they are, how hard they work at school, and the bond we have made. Donating to my classroom would affect the education of 28 hardworking students.
My Project
Schools struggle to provide basic needs for students in the classroom which means that art materials has taken a back seat. Parents and students often request more of this in the classroom but with little room in the schools budget and parents who cannot afford to buy these non necessities many students miss out on this important and memorable part of childhood.
Not only is art great for student to get their creative juices flowing but it is also a fun way to learn basic literacy and math skills!
Writing letters with a pencil is not enough to stimulate students brains. But painting it, forming it out of wiki sticks or dotting it is something that will stick with them. Although all the items in my cart are important the paint, markers, card stock and drying racks are going to open up many doors for students to participate in art. This art will allow students to explore their creative side, create projects that will last a lifetime, and gain basic kindergarten skills. When you donate to this project you give students something that would miss out on if it wasn't for you!
