My Students

My students are brilliant scholars of the arts. Everyday, we learn about art. They are familiar with the pop art movement - Warhol, Lichtenstein, and Haring. They've learned about Graffiti art, but without supplies, many of their projects appear unfinished! Help my students achieve through the arts!

My students are smart and able to achieve anything they want to.

The only thing that stands between them is access - access to supplies and life experiences. They've grown up in one of the poorest regions in the United States but few let that hold them back. They don't allow that to be a crutch. They achieve every single day in my class, despite our lack of supplies. My students have dreams to grow into adults that can do more and be more. And they will. Believe in the difference that these supplies will make in their lives.

My Project

Students will utilize these supplies in multiple ways. First and foremost, students will be able to each have a folder for my course which will work as a portfolio as well as grade tracker. Secondly, students will be able to create works of art with the paper that I have requested while the supplies that they will utilize will be stored in the cart that can be easily moved throughout the classroom to different tables!

Art is a way to express yourself.

Many of my students have grown up in less than perfect environments and deserve the opportunity to allow art to make a difference in their lives. By exposing students to the arts, it's been proven to increase classroom performance elsewhere therefore benefiting students in every single class they take. My students will use these supplies to create projects to express their emotions!
