My students need 150 bound notebooks to complete labs and record observations.
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Beal's classroom raised $672
This project is fully funded
I currently teach science in an inner city high school. The grade levels of my students are 10th -12th grade. Many of my students receive free and reduced lunches and many struggle with the ability to purchase materials for school.
First, I want to say thank you to my previous donors for their generosity.
I was able to supply my students with art pencils and colored pictures of their work. They greatly enjoyed the process of observing and drawing. I plan on using all of the material next school year. This year I purchased many notebooks for my students but this became very costly. But, every student who had the "special" lab notebook retains it to this day. It became their pride and joy.
I am asking for notebooks for my students to put this great work they are doing into. I want to start the year off with clean notebooks and FILL them with their work. My students will not have to worry if they can pay for them or stand out if they can't buy one of their own.
Often teachers require notebooks but these notebook are designed for science and cost a bit more than regular notebooks. They will fill them with their new learning!!
Out of your generosity my students will be able to create a book filled with personal science thoughts and pictures. This project will inspire my new students next year just as it did this year. One of my students parents went out and bought her daughter a new notebook because her child was so inspired by the work we did in class that she was inspired to create a notebook on BUGS. I do not think she would have been inspired to do this without her experience in my class. Please consider supporting this project because you see the benefit in a reflective art-filled science notebook. This is a lost art and want to bring it back. Thank you for your consideration in the continuation of my project.
