My Students

My students are middle schoolers at a K-8 school . They are creative, hard-working and come from all walks of life. They love learning and their enthusiasm for education is inspiring to see. Since my students are becoming teenagers it is really exciting to see how they embrace their individuality, but also how they are fearless in the face of adversity. They want to stand up for what they believe in. They want to have their voices heard against racism, sexism and prejudice. They want to make a difference. Please help them recognize the power they have to lead this next generation!

My Project

I teach an art enrichment class four days a week for middle school students at my school. Many students will be in my class because they already have a love of art and some will be exposed to ideas and types of art for the first time. I am excited about kicking off this visual arts classes with some exciting new projects like embroidery, cartooning, and water color and I am requesting embroidery thread, colored pencils, and water color sets for these projects. Each student will also be asked to use a sketch notebook and complete a certain amount of sketches over the trimester of certain topics (still life, animals, people, landscapes, buildings using 3-D, etc.) They will get lots of practice honing their sketching and observation skills. If you help support this project you'll be helping my students have the art supplies and sketch notebooks for this class!
