My Project
Learning a new language is like a brain workout. Words and phrases have to be learned, structures have to be implemented and recalled and a lot of effort is done to interpret a new code.
Art and crafts can serve as a mindful release during these intensive sessions.
These activities grant freedom of expression and offer an alternative way to demonstrate student knowledge. Students can engage in sketch-noting for visual notes or summaries of content, create intercultural artifacts, do describe-and-draw activities, make themed collages, draw and color an adopt-an-artist gallery, or participate in making map races and bingos. Students can also collaboratively create concept maps demonstrating learning connections with markers and glue sticks.
To bring all these benefits of art and craft activites to my language classroom, please help me get these supplies to the classroom.
