My Students

Our school serves at-risk students in southern Illinois. Most of our students come from low income families. We provide a supportive environment for them to overcome the challenges they have faced. The students would love an artistic outlet.

Our kids are resilient.

My Project

I am creating the very first art class at our school. Currently, the students only have core subjects from which to choose their elective classes. Art will give them a new option for their elective credits as well as provide an outlet for their creativity.

The materials will be used for the students to create their own works of art in the art classes.

We have many talented and creative students here with no access to any kind of training or official artistic outlet. This class will allow the kids to learn techniques, refine their art, and show off their talent.
