This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are a vibrant group of 1st graders. They are a group of hard-working, talented, and energetic students that love to come to school. They are constantly asking questions, exploring and making sense of the world around them, all while learning a second language.
My students love to sing, dance, laugh and express their learning.
Something that we pride ourselves on at our school is the joyful learning happening in all classrooms! What we may lack in resources we try our best to give our students other opportunities to learn and grow.
My Project
A recent anonymous quote I encountered said the following "Imagination is the art of Creation." Young learners love to express themselves and their creativity through the arts. Our classroom is in great need of art supplies and organizational tools. My goal is to Integrate more art projects into academic subjects such as math, reading, and phonics. This will allow students to demonstrate understanding in another medium. In addition, the art center will supply the class with the materials needed for Project-Based learning projects. Students that may not have the ability to work on their projects at home, will be given the opportunity use in-class time to do so.
