My fashion design students need 7 books on fashion illustration, and my advanced art students need 4 books on sequential art and comics. There is not funding at the school to have any art textbooks, so if I can have a variety of different inspirational and instructional books on these two subjects, in can enable me to teach units on both fashion illustration and sequential art and comic illustration.
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. H.'s classroom raised $505
This project is fully funded
I teach at a small alternative public high school in an urban setting of Northern California with a high-need student population of grades 9-12.
Our school is under-funded, especially when it comes to the arts. This year specifically, there were many budget cuts in the area. We do have an initiative to become an arts focused school, but there are many obstacles to overcome, especially financially. The majority of our population is from a low socioeconomic background with many cultural obstacles as well. Nonetheless, our students are blessed with an amazing passion, drive, and dedication to artistic creativity and personal success. The more they are given the resources and opportunities for positive and engaging programs, the more positive success they will have in their futures.
We need art books for my Fashion and Advanced Art classes. There is no funding for books or textbooks for art classes within our budget. If we can receive any part of this art book proposal, our students will be able to do more technically and intellectually advanced and stimulating art projects such as Fashion Illustration and Sequential Art / Graphic Novels.
Your help will make a huge difference in empowering our future leaders. The students will be extremely grateful that there are people out there who care and are willing to give where it's needed the most!
This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
More than half of students from low‑income households
