My Students
I believe that every student should walk into a well-stocked classroom where they will always have the supplies to create, learn, and explore new ideas.
Welcome to a third grade, bilingual classroom full of hard-working, enthusiastic students!
My bilingual classroom is the landing spot for third graders who have just arrived in the United States. My students are incredibly hard workers who always come to school ready to learn, no matter what is going on outside of the classroom. My goal as a teacher is to provide my students with all that they need to be successful learners.
My Project
Have you ever met a child who doesn't love art class? The classroom unlike any other where students can creatively express themselves using so many different materials and visual mediums. This year, my students will be learning both in school and at home during the week. Because we are in one of the neighborhoods that was hardest-hit by COVID, many families are struggling. But, this struggle should not mean that my students lose their access to the arts.
My ELL students use art not just to express their creativity, but to help them show their learning and acquire a new language.
By providing individual art supply kits for students to use at home, I can be sure that they have access to materials they can use to make art. This assortment of pipe cleaners, glue, tape, paper, crayons and more, students will have lots of choices when it comes to creating art during their remote-learning days. They can use clay to create sculptures showing what they learned in science, or make a pipe-cleaner tower to complete an at-home STEM challenge. My students' remote-learning teacher will be able to help guide them in using these materials to create all sorts of fun projects that will keep them engaged and thinking creatively.
